1 BUTTE COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. '789
2 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2-45, 2-46, 2-50, AND k2EPEALING
SECTION 2-51 OF THE CODE OF BUTTE COUNTY, CAT,IFORNIA

5 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
6 California, do ordain as follows:
7 i. Section 2-51 of the Code of Butte County, California,
8 is hereby repealed.
9 2. Section 2-45, Section 2-46, and Section 2-50 of the "
10 Code of Butte County, California; are amended to read as fol3.ows:
11 SECTION 2-45 -
12 APPOINTMENT' OF VETERANS SERVICE OFFICER AS PUBLIC GUARDIAN
33 The Veterans Service Officer for the County of Butte is
14 hereby appointed to the office of Public Guardian and shall serve
15 Ex Officio as such Guardian.
16 SECTION 2-46
17 PUBLIC GUARDIAN BOND
18 The Public Guardian shall file an official bond in the sum
19 of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) which said bond shall inur•.e:=
20 to the joint benefit of the several guardianship estates and the
21 County of Butte and the Public Guardian shall not be required
22 to file bonds in Guardianship estates.
23 SECTION 2-50
24 ATTORNEY FOR PUBLIC GUARDIAN
25 The County Counsel of the County of Butte shall act as
26 Attorney for the Public Guardian, provided however, that should ',
27 the County become involved in litigation with award, or proposed)
28 ward, of the Public Guardian, the County Counsel shall refrain
29 from representing the Public Guardian in such instance,
30 3. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days
31 after its passage and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days
32 after its passage, it shall be published at least once with the

names of the Supervisors voting for or against in a local
newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, on the 12th day of
Nov~:mber 1963, by the following vote:
AYES: uupervisors: Giles, McKillap and Acting Chairman Pryde
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor Alldredge and Chairman Stainegger
NOT VOTING: None
