WI-FEI2EAS, Section 6157 of the Government Code authorizes
the County,and district, and each subdivision, department, board
commi.ssion, body or agency of the County to accept personal checks
drawn in its favor, or in favor of a designated official thereof,
in payment for any license, permit, fee, or fine, or in payment o~
any obligation owing to the public agency or trust deposit, if the
person issuing the check furnishes to the person auttlorized to
receive paymen~ satisfactory proof of residence in this State and
if the personal check is drawn on a banking institution located in
this State; and
WIFEREAS, Section 6157 of ~he Government Code authorizes for
any check returned without payment, for any reason, a reasonable
charge for the returned check.
NOW, THEkZ~FORE, SE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supe~visors
that:
1. If any personal check offered in ~ayinent, pursuant to
Section 6157 of the Gover~.ment Code, is re~urned without payment,
for any reason, a charge of Ten Dol~ars ($I.0.00) sha11 be imposed on
such returned check.
