~he County of Bur~e has approved and endorsed the proposal o~ ~he
Butte County Probation Department and the Butte County Department
of Social Welfare, for the transfer of certain child custody and
status investigations, from the Probation Department to the Department
of Social F~elfare; and
ti~Tf~IEREAS, such ~ransfer urould be in the bes~ interest of the
Coun~y oi Butte:
NQW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that:
1. Pursuant to California Civi1 Code Section 4602, the
Director of the Butte County Department of Social jdelfare, or the
designee thereof, is designated "domestic relation.s i.nvestz.gator"
as that term is used in California CiviZ Code Sectiom 4602, for pur-
poses of making custody investa~gatzons and filing reports, as speci--
fied therein. °
2. Pursuant to Caia~fornia Welfare arid Inst~tutions Code
Section 272, the Sutte County Department of Social WeZfare is del.e-
ga~ed those duties of the probation officer specified in Cali£ornia
Welfare and Institutions Code Sectian 231 regarding investigation.s
and reports relative to the custody, sta~us, or welfare or minors.
3. Pursuant to California Civi1 Code Sec~ion 233, the Butte
County Department of Social Welfare shall investigate and report to
~he Court regardin.g the proper disposition to be made in actions
brought to free children for adoption, as further specified in said
section, except in those cases where the But~e County Department of
Social Welfare is a party.
4. Pursuant to California Civi1 Code Section 227a, the

5. Pursuant to California Civil Code Section 4101, the Butte
County Department of Social Wel£are is to provide premarital counsel-
