RESOLUTIOtJ IN HONQR OF CLEM MEIT
WHEREAS, Ciem Meith has served, with distinction, as Farm
' Advisor for the University of California Cooperative Extension
Service in Bu~te County since~1956; and
WHEREAS, this Board wishes to recognize the long and devoted
public service of Clem Meith to the County and its residents; and
WHEREAS, Clem Me~th has demonstrated outstanding expertise
and diligence in advising the agricultural 9ndustry in Butte County,
particuiarly the almond, citrus and olive industries, inc~uding the
development and promotion of non-til~age orchard maintenance
techniques for the almond industry, a practice now used statewide;
and
WHEREAS, the efforts of Clem Meith have sign~ficantly
benefited the consumers and the agricu1tural indus~ry in Butte County;
and
WHEREA5, Clem Meith's expertise has been amply demonstrated
in numerous sta~ewide publicat9ons and in the development of orchard
practices which have demonstrably increased yields while decreasing
costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOI.V~D by the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Butte, State of Californ3a, as fo~7ows:
1. That this Board, on behalf of the people of the County
of Butte, and on`its own behalf, wishes to express its most sincere ,
~ apprec~ation for the services of C~em Meith, and wishes to take this
op'portunity to join with the entire community in honoring him upon
his retirement.
