A PROPOSAL FOR INCORPORATION IN''THE COMMUNITY OF PARADISE AND DISSOLUTION
OF STX SpECTAL DISTRTCTS.
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, pursuant to the
District Reorganization Act of ~g65, beginning with Part 2, Chapter 2, Ar~icle ~,
wish to consider a proposal for incorporation in the community of Paradise a~nd the
dissolution of six special dis~ricts; and _
WI~R~AS, no proceeding £or such a reorganization shall be initiated by
~his Board or requested by its members until approval of the Local Agency Formation
Commission is first obtained.
NOW, THEI2EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED by the Butte County Board of
Supervisors as follows: .
1. Application and a proposal is hereby made to the Loca1 Agency Formation
Commission in accordance with the Knox-Nesbit Act, beginning with Goyernment Code
Section 54~73 to consider the folZowing reorganization in the community of Paradise;
2. A Municipal incorporation, the 2xterior boundaries of the area proposed
for incorporation are described in "Exhibit A:" T~ is proposed that the municipality
be incorporated un.der the following principal act; the Municipal Organization Act.of
197'], Title 4, Division 2, Part 2, of the Government Code beginning with Section
35000. ' '
3. It is proposed that the following six special districts be dissoZved
at the beginning o~ the ~ir.s~ fu11 fiscal year following incorporation; Paradise Fire
Protection Dis~rict and county service areas 4, 13, 38, 49, and 53.
4. This reorganization is proposed pursuant to the District Reorganization
Act of '1965, beginning wi~h Government Code Section 56000.
5. Said reo~gan~.zation is to maintazn or increase the level of mini.capal
services in the subject community. A city manager type of government is propased. "
6. The Clerk of the Board is authorized and directed to file a certified
copy of this resolution with the Executive Officer of the Local A~ency ~'ormation
Commission.
