RESOL~ITION OF INTENTION TO APPROVE AN AME'NDMENT TO
CONTRACT 6~7WEEN THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRAT'IQId OF THE
PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' itETIREMENT SYSTEM A(~D T',HE BOARD OF
SUPERVTSORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE
WHEREAS, the Public Employees' Retirement' Law permits the
participation of public agencies and their emp]oyees in the Pub7ic
Employees' Retirement System by the execution of a contract, and
sets forth the procedure by which said public ag:encies may elect
to subject themselves and their employees to amendments to said
Iaw; and
WHEREAS, one of the steps in the procedure to amend this
contract is the adoption by the iegislative body of the public
agency of a resolution giving notice of its intention to approve
an amendment to said contract, which resolution'shall contain a
summary of the changes proposed in said contract; and
WHER~AS, the following is a statement of'~he proposed change:
(1) Section 21222.85 '
(One t~me 3% to 15% increase to pre-l'/7/74 retirees)
for local miscel1aneous members.
(2} Section 21222.86
(One time lY to 7~ increase to pre-7/1/7A retirees)
for Zocal miscellaneous mer~bers.
WHEREAS, the estimate of the cost of such change for the
public agency is set forth in a copy of the valuation report
attached hereto, marked "Exhibit A" and by this'reference incorporated
into the amendment as though therein set out in fu17.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the',Board of
Supervisors of the County of Butte, gives, and i't hereby gives
notice of intention to approve an amendme~t to the contract
between the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte and the
Board of Administration of the Public Employees' Retirement
System to accomplish the above change.
PASSED AND ADOPTE~ by the Butte County Board of Supervisors
this 25th ddy of September , 1979, by the following
