AN ORDINANCE ESTABLTSHTNG SPEID LINLITS ON
CERTAIN ROAD ti~THIN THE COUNTY' OF BUTTE,.STATE.OF CALIFORNIA
(Vehicle Code. Section.2235g)
1. The Board o£ Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
2 do ordain as follows:
3; SECTION l: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an
¢ engineering and traffic survey, the County highway hereinafter described comes
5 within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State of
6 California, in that a maximum speed limit of sixty-.five (65} miles per hour is
7 more than is reasonable and safe on said highway, and determines and declares
$ a prima facie speed limit on such County highway as follows:
9 SECTION 2: That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25} miles
10 per hour is hereby determined, declared and established upon the hereinafter
11 described County highway, to wit:
12 On P92DWAY, from a point 1000 1 northerly of Yocum. Avenue to a
13 point 10009 southerly of Ih~rham--Chico Road
14 SECTION 3: That SPEED LII~ffT 25 ISLES signs be placed at appropriate
15 locations on the road described in Section 2,
16 SECTION !~: That a prima facie speed Limit of fifty (50) miles per
17 hour is hereby determined, declared and established upon the hereinafter des-
18 cribed County highway to wit:
19 On ~IID[~AY, from'a point 10001 southerly of Durham-Chico Road to a
20 point 20001 northerly of Durham Highway..
21 On hIIDG~AY, from a point 10001 northerly of Yocum Avenue to the south-
22 erly right-,of-way line of Hegan Lane,.
23 SECTION 5: That SPEED LIMIT 50 MILES signs be placed at appropriate
24 locations on the road described in Section 4.,
2g SECTION 6: That a prima facie speed limit of fifty-five (55)-miles
2g per hour is hereby determined, declared and established upon the hereinafter
27 described County highway,ip wit:
2g On NIIDV~AY, from,a point 35001 southerly of Durham Highway to
2g a point 20009 northerly of Nelson VZest Road,.
30 On 442Drr~iAY, from Richvale Nelson Road to the northerly right-of-way
31 line of Fruitvale Road.
32 On P~CCDWAY, from a point 10001 easterly of Richvale-South Highway to
State Highway 99E•

l SECTION 7: That SPEID LINff T 55 MILES signs be placed at appropriate
2 locations on the road described in Section 6.
$; SECTION S: That a prima facie speed limit of thirty--five (35} miles
4 per hour is hereby determined, declared and established upon the hereinafter
$. described County highway, to wit:
6 On MIDtidAY, from a point 2,000r northerly, of Durham Highway to
i;7 a point 3,$001 southerly of Durham Highway.
g On MIDWAY, from a point 2,0001 northerly of Nelson West Road to
g, Richvale Nelson Road.
10 On R~DWAY, from the northerly right-of-way line of Fruitvale Road
11 to a point 1,0001 easterly of Richvale South Highway.
12 SECTION 9: That SPEED LI3~IT 35 PZCLES signs be placed at appropriate
13 locations on the road described in Section S.
14 SECTION 1C: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
15 with are hereby repealed,
16 SECTION 11: The several features, parts, provisions, sections, and

lq terms of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and the
~g invalidity, if any, of any feature, part, provision, section, or term thereof
~g sha71 not affect the remainder of this ordinance nor render the same inoperative
20 or invalid.
21 SECTION 12: The Department of Public ti+forks of the County of Butte is
22 hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
2g speed limits established herein, within thirty {30) days of the adoption hereof.
24 This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after its passage,
25 and before the expiration of fifteen {15) days after its passage, it shall be
26 published with the names of the members voting for and against same, once in a
27 local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California,
