RESOLU'I'ION AUTHORIZING FILING OF CLAIM WITH THE
ST,A,TE OF CALIFORNIA, PURSUANT TO CHAPTER I334 aF fiHE
STATUTES OF 1965, SECTION 987.6 OF THE PENAL Co77E, ITEM NO. 365
OF THE BUAGET Za.C'£ OF 1966, AND
APPO~~IT~NG AAT AUT~-IORIZED AGENT THEREFOR
WHEREAS, Chap~er 1334 of the Statutes oP 1965, Section 987.6 0~
the Penal Code, Ttem No. 365 of the Budge~ Act ot 1966, authorizes the
State to pay to the County an amount not to exceed tezz pearcent of the
amount annually budgeted by the County in providing counsel in accordance
with the law, wk~ether by publi.c defender or by assigned counsel or both,
~or persons charged with vio].ation, o~ state~criminal law who des~.re, but
are unable to afford counsel; and
WHERE7~S, tlze County desires to apply £or the maximum amount payable
undex~ said law; and
WHERE,AS, previously appointed agent authorized to file applications
on behalf o~ the County is no longer an officer of the County;
NOW, THEI2EFORE, BE IT RE50LVED AS FOLLOWS:
~. That JAMES L. JOHANSEN is appointed the authorized agent o€
the County tor the puzpose o~ filing any application on behalf o£ the
County with the State for reimbursement pursuant to ehe aforesaid chapter.
2. That he shall furnish such information, £orms and records to the
State as tkie latter may require and otherwise cooperate with the State for
tk~e purpose of expediting payment of 5tate funds to the County, pursuant
to the aforesaid chapter.
3. That all County officers and employees and relat~d contractors
are directed to cooperate caith said authorized agent for the purpose of
facilitating the application to the State and the receipt of State funds
pursuant thereto.
The foregoing resoiu~ion was introduced by 5upervisor pofan
who moved its adoption, seconded by 5upervisor Wheeler , and said
zesolution was passed '~his 1c5th day ot October , 1979, on roll
call by the following~votes:
