of property tax shifts before any annexa~ion as camp~ete.
NOW, THE~E~'ORE, BE IT RESOLVED AN~ dRDERED by ~he Butte County Board
a~' Supexvisors as follows:
'I. All property tax exchanges far special da.strict ann~:xations shall
be governed l~y ~his resolution.
2. No pxope~t~ tax availab~e ta Butte Co~zn~y shall be e:xcha~iged wi~h
s~eca.al da.st~icts as a resul~ of annexations.

EXCFiANGES ~'OR SP~CIAT~ DISTRIC~' ANNEXATIONS
To: Board of S.upervisors

~ubject: Special District Annexations/Property Tax
Sect~on g9(~) of AB 8(Chapter 282 of tne Statutes of ~97g) provides
that the Board of Supervisors sha1~ handLe negotiations for specia~ districts
regarding any shi~~ in property ~ax ~rom ~he coun~y to a speczal dis~rict
when sp~cia~ districts annex ~erri~ory. ~
A resolution indicating the outcome of these "negotiat~ons~~ must be
adopted before the ann~xations are comp~ete and before the S~ate Baard of
Equaliza~~on wi11 com~le~e the ehange.
It is recommended that your Saard adopt a b~anke~ resolutian which
applies to al~ annexa~ians ~o special dis~x~cts.
I have d~scussed the question of Property Tax shifts with~the County
Auditor. Special.districts which are annexing terr~tory in th~se post
Proposition 13 days a~e districts which derive their r~venue from service
chax~ges rather then fram property taxes.
~herefore, a~esolut~on has been prepared which provides that there
will be no property ~ax exchange when special. districts annex terri~ory
in Bu~~e County. -
