AN ORDINANCE ZON_CNG A PORTION OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE NOS. 475, 522 and 676 of SAID ca~NTx.
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
under and pursuant to Ordinance #47S of said County being the Zoning Enabling
Ordinance of said County, as amended by Ordinance Nos. 522 and 676 does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. The hereinbelow described areas, situate in the County of
Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby zoned as an °A-~" (Agri-
cultural) District, and said areas shall be subject to the restrictions and
restricted uses and regulations hereinafter specified and provided, said areas
so zoned lacing located in the unincorporated area of Butte County, north of the
City of Chico, California, particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centerlines of
State Highway 32 and Nord-Gana Read; thence northerly to
the quarter corner common to Sections 34 and 35 of T.23
N.R.1W., M.D. B.&M.; thezice easterly along the half section
line through Sections 34, 35, and 36 to range line common
to R.1W and R.IE, M.D. B.&I~E.; thence northerly along said
range line to the centerline of U.S. Hwy. 99E; thence north-
westerly along said centerline of U.S. Hwy. 99E to the county
boundaries common to Butte and Tehama Counties; thence westerly
along said county boundaries to the centerline of the Sacramento
River; thence southerly and meandering along the centerline of
the Sacramento River to its intersection with the centerline of
State Highway 32, thence westerly along said State Highway 32
to the point of beginning, _
SECTION 2. The..following regulations shall apply in an "A-3" District:
2.1 Uses permiated~
a. Single Family Dwellings.
b. General farming, horticulture, commercial__iivestock, poultry
production, warehouse and storage.
c. Accessory buildings and uses pertinent to the permitted uses,
including agricultural processing plants.
d. Housing facilities (including trailers) to accommodate only
agricultural employees and their families employed by the
owner or operator of the premises; and provided further that
such housing facility shall be considered accessory to the
main building;: but shall conform to the provision pertaining
to required yard and open space for dwellings.
2.2 TM;n;mum Lot Area R~quised: Five (5) Acres.
SECTION 3o This Ordinance is for the purpose of orderly progress and
the owner of any property zoned hereby may at any time petition the Planning
Commission and the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte for re-zoning;
and the Planning Commission of the .County of Butte shall on each fifth anniver-
sary of the date of the adoption of this Ordinance, of its own accord, review
said Ordinance to determine whether or not any land zoned hereby should be
re-zoned to permit orderly progresso
SECTION 4. All uses of land within the district not specifically
authorized and permitted under Section 2 are prohibited.
SECTION 5. Penalties for any violation of the zoning hereby imposed
within the District shall be as provided in the Zoning Enabling Ordinance. In
compliance with the provisions of the Zoning Enabling Ordinance, this Ordinance
shall from and after its effective date become a supplement to and part of
the Zoning Enabling Ordinance.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby declared to be in
full force and effect from and after thirty (30) days after the date of its

passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15} days after its passage this
Ordinance shall be published once with the names of the members voting fox an
agaa.n5t it in the Chico Enterprise , a newspaper published in
the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED and ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, this 14th day of January , 196, by
the following vote:
AYES; Supervisors Giles, Pryde, Steinegger and Chairman MclCillop
