HomeMy WebLinkAbout80-019WHEItEAS, the Butte County Administra~ion Center has been completed and the county offices re~.ocated ~herein; and WHEREAS, for the convenience of the general publ.ic it is necessary that parking regulations be esCablished so as to allow convenient general public access to said building. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLV~D as follows: 1. That this Board has established and hereby designates the parking 1ot across the street from the administration building, easterly from County Center Drive, as the employees parking lot and a11 Butte County employees are directed to primarily u.se said ~.ot. Qnly when said employees parking Iot is full are employees to use the parking places surrounding rhe administration.building facing ou~raards from said bui.lding. Ar~ached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein as if set forth in fu11 is a plat refl.acting the location o~ the employees parking 1ot and the.parking•areas around the adminis~ration building that are for the exclusive use of the visiting public. 2. Pursuant to the authority of Vehicle Code §22519, Chose parking spaces facing in towards the bu~.lding on the road surzounding said administration building on three sides are explicitly x'eserved for the sole use of the general public. It shall be un~awful to park county owned vehicles in said spaces, except whi.le loading ar unloading. Further, in those spaces marked for handicapped indivi- duals, it s~.all be urr.lawful for anyone to park in said spaces if they do not have on ~heir vehicle the proper identification for Ir.andicapped peopl.e. County employees violating the pxovisions of RESOLUTION REGULATING VEHICLE PA12iL~NG AT THE BUTTE COUNTY ADP~IINISTkZATION CENTER -2- this resolution shall be subject to discipline by the co~nty as well as s~bject to prosecution pursuant to the provisians of the Vehicle Code. 3. ~he Director of Public Works is hereby instructed to install signs around the side of the new county ad~inistration building, whzch signs will reflect "For Visitors Only." 4. Within the employees park~ng lat there are hereby established five (5) spaces of which sha11 be marked by the Director of Public Works reflecting that they are for the sole use of county pool cars. The five (5) spaces shail be at the most easterly portion of sa~d employees parking 1ot. 5. The County Administrative Officez sha11 ensure that every county employee is made aware of the pzovisions of this xesolution. 6. The Director of Public Works is ins~ructed to have "Warning" signs placed on County Center Drive in appropriate loca- tions so as to warn traffic on County Center Drive of the pedestrians crossing from the employees parking lot to the administration build- ing. Further, a crosswalk is to be painted on County Center Drive from the stairs leading to the emp~oyees parking lot to the driveway of the adminzstration building. • PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors ~his ~~n~ day o~ January ___, 1980, by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Dolaa, Wheeler, Winston and Vice Chairman Moseley NOES : None ABSENT: Chairman Lemke NOT VOTiNG: None ROBERT E.
