DUAL SE~ HUNTING OF DEER
WHEREAS, this Board was duly notif~ed of a proposal by the
State pepartment of Fish and Game to allow dual sex hunting of deer; and
WHEREAS, the Department's proposal would a11ow an either sex
archery deer hunt at the Gray Lodge; and
WH~REAS, this Board du~y noticed and held a hearing at its
regular meeting on February 26, 1980; and
4THEREAS, a number of individuals were heard both pro and con
ori the issue as well as a recommendation by the Butte County Fish and
Game Comtnission;
NOW, THEFtEFORE, B~ IT RESOLVED by this Soard as follows:
l. That pursuant to the authority of §459 of the Fish
and Game Code, this Board hereby respectfully opposes the taking of
antlerless deer, i.e. by sexual hunt.
2. That this Board's Resolu~ion and objectzon to the
proposal is based in part upon the unanimous recommendation fxom the
Sutte County Fish and Game Commission as we11 as a number of citizens
speaking aga~nst the same at the hearing and upon the reasons set out
by the citizens in opposition.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors
this 26~h day pf February, ~980, by the ~ollowing vote:
