UNION SCHOOL DTSTRICT AND AN ELECTION TO ADOpT A
SPECIAL TAX FOR POLICE PROTECTION SERVICES FpR
THE CITY OF BIGGS WITH THE STATE OF CAT,I~ORNIA
AIRECT PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY,
JUNE 3. 1980
WHEREAS, the Butte County Superintendent of Schools has
passed a resolution calZing for a specral school district rea~range-
ment of trustee areas election in the Golden Feather Union ~lementazy
Schooi Distxict, said election to be held on Tuesday, June 3, z9sa;
an d
WHEREAS, the City Council of the Ci~q of Biggs has passed
a reso~ution calling for an election for the purpose of adopting a
special tax for police protection services, said election to be held
on Tuesday, June 3, 1980; and
WHEIt~AS, the Butte County Superintendent of Schools and the
City Council of the City of Biggs have requested the Board of Super-
visors of the County of Butte to order the consolidation of each of
~he aforesaid electz.on wi.th the State o£ California Direct Primary
~lection to be held on Tuesday, June 3, 1980.
NOW, TH~REFORE, BE IT ORDERED AND RESOLVED by the Butte
County Board of Superv~.sors, State of Calitornia, as follows:
1. That the aforesaid elections ca~led by the aforesaid
Butte Coun~y Superintendent of Schools and City Gouncil o~ the City
of Biggs shall and and the same are hereby consolidated with ~he
State of California Direct Primary Election to be held on Tuesday,
.7une 3, 1980.
2. That in the a~eas affected by this consolidation
order the elecrion should be held in all respects as though there
was on~y one election and the County Clerk of the County of Butte is
hereby ordered and directed to provide accordingly within the
territory affected by said consolidation, the election precincts,
polling places and voting booths for each of said elections hereby
cansolidated and to prova.de for one set of election officers in each
of the precincts affected bq this consolidation order.
3. That the Coun~y Ciexk xs further ordered and directed
to set forth in each form of ballot and sample ballot, to be used
in said consolidated elections, ~nsofar as applicable, the ballot
measure for said Golden Feather Union Elementary SchooZ District
and City of Biggs, to mail to rhe qualified electors ot the respective
districts and the appropria~e sample ballots and polling place cards
signed by said County Clerk relating to said e~ection and to provide
- absent voter ballots for said elections and sazd State Direct Primary
Election consolida~ed rherewith ~ox the use by qualified electors of
the respective districts who may be entitled thereto as provided by
law.
~. Thae ~he County Cler~ sha11 canvass or cause to be
canvassed ~he return of sazd district elections and shall certify
said canvass of the votes cast to the respective districts.
5. That the County Clerk is further authorized to charge
to the respec~ive districts the expense of the election or elections
attributable ~o said distr~cts.
