HomeMy WebLinkAbout80-109AM~NDM~NT OF RESOLUTION 77-79 RELATIVE TO _ ESTABLISHMENT OF AGRICULTURAL ADVISORY COMMISSION WHEREAS, agriculture is the most important aspect of the economy of Butte County; and WHEREAS, this Soard has determined the ~eed for an advisory body that will advise the 8oard on all matters before the Board that affect agriculture; NOW, TMEREFOR~, 6~ IT RESOLVED that this Board hereby establishes the "Agricultural Advisory Commission": 1. Said Commission shall consist of seven rr~mbers. Each Board member shall nominate one member to the Commission; however, al~ mem6ers shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The County Agr~cultural Commissioner, or his authorized deputy, and the Farm Advisor of Butte County, or his authorized deputy, shall also s~rve on the committee as nonvoting members of tfie Commission and as support staff. Additionally, an alternate member may be appointed at ]arge. The alternate member may participate in the proceedings of the Comm9ssion; ~owever, wi17 have only voting rights in the absence of one of the other regular members. 2. With the excep~ion of the Agricultural Commissioner and the ~arm Advisor, the members of the Agr9cultural Advisory Commission shall be entitled ~o mi~eage and other necessary expenses ~ursuant to the Caunty resolution on travel expenses. 3. Said AgricuTtural Advisory Commiss3on shall meet at such places and times as directed 6y the Board of Supervisors in order to advise the Soard on the questians whieh said Board directs to said Commiss~on. 4. This resolution shall replace Resolution 77-79 heretofore adopted by the Soard of Supervisors on May 10, 1977.
