Works is charged with the enforcemen~ ot buil.ding codes and other
related health and safety code items; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to charge fees to cover the costs
to this Division's operations; and
WHEREAS, Chapters 26, 26B, 27 and 28 of the Butte County
Code were amended to provide tor fees to be established by Board
resolution, which amendments are effective on August 8, 1980; and
WIiEREAS, this resolution wi11 replace Resolution No. 79-210
relating to fees for mobile homes.
NOW, Z'HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED.by the Sutte County Board
ot Supervisors that the following fee schedule is established for the
Building Division of the Department of Public Works to charge and
collect for services:
- 1. Building Permit Fees

The de~ermination of value or valuation for the
purpose of es~ablishing ~ees shall be made by the Building
Official. ~'his valuation shall be the total value of all
construction wozk for which the per~it is issued as well
as a11 f~nsih work, painting, roofing, electrical, plumbing,
heating, air cond~tioning, and any other permanent work or
permanent equipment.
The bui~d~ng permit fees for factory-built housing
shall be computed in the same manner as for regular b.uilding.
~anstruction except that the fee sha11 be one-halt (1/2) of
the build~ng permit ~ee ~etermined by the above table.
2. 1'lumbing Permit Fees
A fee shall be paid ~o~ each plumbing permit at the
time of fil.ing an application in accordance with the

4. Mechanical Permit Fees
A fee shall be paid for each mechanical permi~ at the

5. P1an Check Fees
When a plan is required to be submitted by subsection
(e) of Section 301 of the Uniform Building Code, a
plan checking fee sha11 be paid at the time of sub-
mitting the plans and specifications for checking.
Plan checking fees shall be one-half (1/2) the building
permit f~ees as se~ forth in ~tem ~~l above with a
minimum plan check tee of $I0.000. P1an checking fees
for identical buildings or structures previous~y plan
checked and approved for conformance with the 1976
Uniform Building Code by the Building Department, State
of California, or Tnternational Conference of Suilding
Ofticials sha11 be $I0.00
Where plans are incomplete or changed so as to require
additional plan checking, an additional plan check fee
may be charged by the Suilding Official.
P1an checking tees £or mobile home utilities and mobile
home installation permits shall be $10.00.

6. Addi~ional Approved Plans
W1~ere an owner or contractor desires approval of an
additional set o~ approved building plans, the fee
for this service shall be $10.00.
Fzl~ng Fees
A fil~ng fee of $10.00 shall be paid ~or each permit
a~ ~he time of application.
8. Transfer Fee
A trans~er fee o~ $10.00 shall be paid for transfer-
ring each permit from the original permittee to another
person due to change in ownership or contractor.
9. Additional Inspection Fees
A. For the inspection o£ any work for which no fee
is herein prescribed, for the time consumed,
$20.00 per hour within a minimum fee of $Z.50.
B. A reinspection fee may be assessed for each
inspection or reinspection when such portion of
work for which the inspection is called is not
complete or when corrections called for are not
made. This tee shali be for the time consumed,
$20.00/hr. with $10.00 minimum fee.
C. A pre-inspection fee may be assessed for each
inspection made prior to the issuance of a permit
to do work, to determine if the permit can be
issued or to determine the extent of the work
required. This fee shall be for the time consumed,
$20.00/hr. with $7.50 minimum fee.
~0. Penalty Fees
When work tor a which a permit is required by the
Butte County Code is started or proceeded with grior
to obtaining said permit, the permit fees specified
in this resolution sha11 be tripled, but the payment
of such triple fee sha11 not relieve any persons from
fully complying with the requirements of the Butte
County Code in the execution of the work, nor from
other penal~ies prescribed therein. This penalty
provision shall not apply to emergency work when it
shall be proved to the satisfaction of the Building
Official that such work was urgently necessary and
that it was not practical to obtain a permit therefor
before the co~encement of work. In all such cases,
a permit must be obtained as soon as it is practical
to do so, and if there be an unreasonable delay in
obtaining such a pe~mit, a triple fee as herein
provided shall be charged.
11. Requested Inspection Fee
Where an owner desires an ~nspection of a building
on which there is not an active building permit, ~or
~inancing or other purposes, the inspection fee shall
be fifty dollars ($50.00) per building. This fee
sha11 be paid prior to the inspection. This fee is
to cover the cost of inspection and reZated administrative
costs only. Any erection, construction, enlargement,
alteration, repair, movemen~, improvement, removal,
conversion, or demo~ition required as a result of the
inspection wi11 require separate permit fees and
inspections.

12. Mobile homes and Mobile home Accessory Buildings
T`h.e fees for mobile homes and mobile home accessory
buildings sha11 be the same as se~ forth above £or
buildings and in additzon, the following fees shall
be paid:
A. Electric permit - Flat rate of $15.d0 fvr the
mobile home station.
B. Plumbing permit -~'lat rate of $I0.00 for each
gas piping, water piping, and build~.ng sewez ~or
a mobile home station.
C. Mobile home Installation. fee of $30.00.
Z3. Excavation and Grading Fees
Excavation and grading fees sha11 be as prescribed
in Chapter 70 of the Unifo~m Building Code as adopted
by the Butte County Code.
BE IT FUR~HEIt RESQLVED that this resolution shall be
effective o~ August 8, 1980.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 79-210 is hereby
rescinded, effective August 8, 1980
