RESOLUTION IN APPRECTATIO.d OF DOUGLAS ROY
Wd~R~AS, the Assessors o£ the nine Northern California counties petitioned
the State Soard o£ £qua7.ization fox reconsidezation of their ruling on Rule 1025, a
matter of oreat concern to all the counties a€fected thereby; and
WHEREAS, Douglas Roy graciously consented to serve as an expert witness on
behal£ of the nine Northern California Assessors, and not only testified at the State
Board of Equalization's rehearing, but also greatly assisted in the nreparation of the
rebuttal brief filed by the Assessors after the hearing, all at no cost Co Che taxpayexs
of ehe nine counties involved: and
WiIEREAS, Douglas Roy holds both a Bachelor of Science and a ~Iaster oP
Science Degree in Forestry, both irom the University o£ Cali£omia at Berkeley, and £or
many years has been a registered pxofessional forester of the State of Cali£ornia; and
WHEREAS, Douglas Roy has long been recognized as a leading expert in
forestry and has written numerous pubI.ications, which are mosC respecCed in the timber
industry;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE I'T RESOLVEA bq Chis Board as follows:
1. That this Board, on its own behal.f as we11 as on behalf of the
citizens of the County of Butte, wish to express its deep appreciation to Dougias Roy
for his outstanding public service in assisting the Assessors of the nine NorChern
Cali£ornia counties.
