Mark Hegsted, Administrator, Human Nutrition Cen~er, SEA-USDA. 4. "Food For Thritty Families" prepared by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.%~ 5. "Changes In Household Food Consumption In '~he United States, Spring 1965 And 7.977", a talk by Mary Y. Hama, Consumer and Food Econoznics Institute at the 1980 Agri.cultuxal Ov.t~ook Conference in Washington, D.C. ~~ (The publications referred to above followed by an as~erik were used simply for background material to assist in review and determination o~ what is and what is not a n.u~ritious diet. These publications were not used to determine price of that nutritious diet because the age of the publications would no~ assist in that regard.) and; WHEREAS, this Board has reviewed the latest pricing infor- tnation based upon "The Thrifty Food P1an" as extracted frorn the Family Economics Review as being between $46.60 and $62.90 per mon.th; and WHEREAS, the present food allotment under the General Assistance program is $50.00 per month and the We1£are Director, with good cause shown, is authorized by this Board to increase the genera~ grant under the General Assistance program i~, the amaunt of $50.00 per month; and WHEREAS, this Board can, and has, on occasion, reviewed cases where this amount was insufficient and has increased them accordingly; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by this Board as follows: 1. That at the present time this Board finds that the $50.00 food allowance should be continued. 2.
