HomeMy WebLinkAbout81-029RESOLUTION AMENDING SECTION 6.2 OF THE BUTTE COUNTY PERSON~EL RULES WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors finds it to be in the interest of the county to amend the Personne1 Rules. NOW, THEREFORE, 8E IT RESOLVED, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte hereby amends Section 6.2 of the PersonneT Rules of the County of Sutte to read as fo7lows: 6.2 APPLICATION FOR EXAMINATION A separate application must be submitted for each examination. The application must be submitted during the announced recruitment period on a standard county appl~cation form. The application form must be completed in sufficient detail to allow a job-re1ated comprehens~ve review and evaluatian. Failure to file the application during a recruitment period or to complete the application in sufficient detaiT wi11 constitute failure of the initia1 step ~n the examination process and the application wi11 be placed in the ~nactive fi7es. It is the applicant's responsibiiity to notify the Personnel Direc~or of any change of address, name or other pertinent information. AppTications shall become void (1) one year after filing. Veterans of the Unit~d States Armed Forces who have served continously on active duty for 180 days or more and who have been honorably discharged or placed on reserve or National Guard status shall be eT~gible for five (5) veterans' preference points to be added to a passing score of an open, non-promotional examination provided their separation occurred within the f~ve-year period immediately preceding the final f~ling date on the examination bulletin. Qualified veterans with a service-connected disability of 30% or more shall be eligible for an additional five points to be added to a passing score o~ an open, non-promotional examination. Except for veterans who were commissioned officers or veterans who have retired from the military service, the five-year eligibility limitat3on sha71 not appiy to those veterans w~o served during the fallowing periods of armed conflict: September 16, 1940 to December 31, 1946 June 27, 1950 to January 3I, 1955 ~ece~ber 22, 1961 to May 7, 1975 or to any veteran who sustained a service-connected disability of 30% or more. To receive veterans' preference points, each eligible veteran shall submit to t~e Personnel Director during the announced recruYtment period for each specffic open, non-promotiona7 examinat~on a written request for veterans' preference and written proof of eligibi7ity. The Personnel ~irector sha31 be responsible to establish rules, procedures and forms necessary to carry out the provisfon of this section.
