HomeMy WebLinkAbout81-042RESOLUTION ADDI~G SECTION 12.18 TO THE BUTTE COUNTX PERSONNEL RULES WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors finds i~ to be in t~e inte~est of the county to amend the personnel rules. NOW, THEREFORE, SE IT RESOLVED, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Bu~te hereby adds Section lz.i8 to the perspnnel ~ules of the County of Butte to read as follows: 12.18 General Unit Stand-b,y Pa a. Status Each employee in the Genaral Unit of representation shall be en~i~led to receive $6.00 for each 8-hour weekday s~and-by shift, and $8.00 for each 8-hour weekend or holiday ~stand=:b.y shift, or portion t:hereof as ordered and authorized by an appointin~ authority. A stand-by shift is definec~ as any 8-hour shift following the employee's normal assigned shift. b. Response Time Employees placed on stand-by status shall keep the appoin~ing authority pr designee advisEd of their locatiion during the stand-by shift and shall respond to duty within {2) two hours from the tizne o£ notificat~.on. When the appointing authority determines it is in the in~erest of the county to provide electronic paging devices for stand-by workers, the appointing authori~y shall provide and mazntain such devices and i.nstruct workers in proper use. Employees on stand-by sta~us shal.J. not be eligible for shift differential pay as specified under Section 12.17 or call-back pay as specified under Section 12.14(i) o~' these rules. Employees returning ~o duty from stand-by shall be eligible for overtime as speci~zed. in these rules. c. Records The appointing authority shall. r~aintain pre-authorization stand-by records specifying the employee's name, classifica- tion, the reason fbr stiand-by, the date and specific shifts for stand-by, the response duty station, telephone number 'to reach employee, and other pertinent inforznation determined by ~he appointing authority.
