Dear Board Members:
The following information is provided pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 25180.7
(Proposition 65}.
l.ri the morning hours of Monday, July 2S, 2011, a vehicle lost a tine and wheel assembly, which
came to rest in the southbound lane of State Route 70, just north of the intersection of Georgia
Pacific Way in the city of Oroville. A loaded, southbound tractor/trailer combination was unable
to avoid the debris, and struck the fire/wheel assembly, breaking a fuel supply valve resulting in
less than SO gallons (estimated) of diesel fuel to leak from the fuel tanks, The result of this
incident was very minor contamination from petroleum hydrocarbons to the roadway and dirt
shoulder area when the vehicle pulled onto the shoulder. There was no threat to any waterways,
water supply, or drainage as fire department personnel quickly contained the spill. The
contamination by this hazardous material was not sufficient to represent a significant hazard or
cause risk of substantial injury to the public safety or health. The remaining contaminants were
removed and disposed of by CalTrans and NRC Environmental Services of Alameda, a State
