Code require an agreement between Che County of Butte and special
districts considering annexations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of
Supervisors that the AgreemenC attached hereto as Exhibit "A"
i.s incorporated herein as if set forth in full and is hereby
approved and executed by Butte County.

CH~CO SEWER ANNEXATION DISTRICT"

~esen~a~ives o~ the Board of Supervisors and the City's Finance and Faci-
lities Commi~tee at thei~ meeting on Monda~, 3une 1~, 1.98~., concerning
~he prop~rty tax e~change re].ating to th~ 'Sou~heast Chi,co Sewer Annexa-~
t~on Dis~rict".
I~ is the Gity Council's understanding that the Coun~y wi11 3~e ~nti~~ed
to laQ% of ~he prope~~y ~a~es ~ar the 1981-82 Fiscal. Yeax~ fram ~h~ pro-
perty being annexed to the Ci~y which is within ~he "5outheast Chico
Sewer Annexation District" with the understa~tding that the City and County
wi11 comzn.ence renegotia~ion of the exchange o~' a7.~. Ci~y and County pro-
perty taxes ~rom a1.~. areas annexed ~o the City s~nce July 24, 1979, as
contempla~ed by Secti.on 3 of the "Agreem~nt Between Bu~~e Coun~y and
Cities Regarding the Negotiated Exchange of Property Ta~ Revenues Rela~-
ing ta Jurisdictional Changes" {Agreement}, approved by Board R~solut~on
$0-~.5 on January 22, ].980 and by Czty Council Mi.n~te Order ~3-$0 on Feb-
ruary 5, 1980.
It is the Ci~y Council's further undezs~anding that while the Agreement
between Butte County and i~s Citi.~s con~emp3.a~es renegot~.a~z.on af pro-
p~rty ~Cax exchanges upon written noti.fication by eith~r party gi.ven on
or befare April 1, 1982, ~he representatives of ~he C~.~y and County have
agreed that it is their intent to cosnmence the r~egatiata.ons at the earYi-
~st possibl.e date in an e~fort to resolve the matter of the e~change we1.1
in advance af Ju1y 1, 1982.
Further, it was agreed ~hat it wauld be appropriate ~o appoint, at an
early date, a~ o~.nt committee of the Boa~d and ~he Ci~ies to comra~ence
the appropria~e ne~atia~ions.
In ord~r to compl.ete the anne~ata~on process rela~ing ta ~.he "So~a.~heas~
Ghico Sewer Annexation District", i~ wil~ now be necessary;for`~he Board
to notify LAFCD that the City and Coun~y have agreed on~~~he'p"roper~y tax
exchange.
The City Counci~ wishes to express its appreciati.on ~o you ~or your
cooperation ixz ~his mat~er.
