REVISEA RESOLtTTION OF BU~E COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
APPROVING THE APPLTCATTON FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE SOLID
WASTE MANAGEMENT ACT OF 7.980 AND REVISZNG RESOLUTION N0.
81-88 DESIGNATING CITY OF' CHICO ~0 ~C~IVE COUNTY'S @RANT
WHERFSS, the Iegisla~ure of the State of California has enacted tihe State
Litter Control, Recycliztg and Resource Recovery Act which provides funds to certain entitie
for litter cleannp, litter 1aw enfoxcement, litter education and purchase o€ litter re-
ceptacles; and
W#iER~AS, tkte State Solid Waste Managemex~k Board has been delegated the responsi-
bility for the administration of the program, setti.ng up necessary procedures governing
application by local agencies under the program; azxd
WI~~R~AS, $22,631 has been allocated to the County of Butte for fiscal year
1.950-81; and s
WHE1tEAS, Butte County designated the City o~ Chico as a recipient of Chese grant
funds; and
WH~f3EA5, the Coanty of Butte now desires to participate in this program for
beautification and 3.itter cleanup and further that legislature allocaCion for the fiscal
year 1981-82 appears questionable;
NOW, 1HEREF'ORE~ BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of
ButY~e 1) approves the £iling of an application for £unds under the Statie of California
Solid Waste Management Board, 2) desires to paxticipate with the Citiy of Chico in its solid
waste program and authorizes, by this reso7.ution, the Publ.ic Works Director, C1ay
CasCleberry, to apply for $10,000 of the $22,631 allocation and auChorizes him to conduct
all negotiations, submit all documents in.cluding, but not limited ~o,applications, grant
agreements and amendments for payment requests which -nay be necessary for the comp].etion
of the Counry's aforementioned program and 3) authorizes and designates the City of Chico
to be the gran~ recipient for the remaining $12,631 of the Countiy's allocation for fisca~.
year 1980-81.
