RESOLUTTQN AGREETNG TO APPROPRIATIONS LIMIT ADJUSTMENTS
~'OR NEWLY ~NCORPORATED ~'OWN OF PARADZSE AND COUNTY 0~' BUTTE
AS REQUIRED BY CALIFORNTA CQNSTTTUTION AR2ICLE X~~~--B, SECTION 3(a)
WHEREAS, the Tawn of Paraclise incorporated on November ~, 1979,
and assumed the ~'inanca~al respansibility of prova~ding public services
previous~y provided by the County o~ Bu~~e, effective July l, 1980,
and;
WHEREAS, ArticlE XZT~-B, 5ection 3(a) prov'a.des for the adjustment
o~ apprnpriations limi~ts as establi.shed by that ar~icJ~e when financial
respansibility o~' providing services is t~ans~erred from one entity
of government to another, ~nd;
WHEREAS, the co~sti~tutional px*ovision fur~her provides tha~
the a~propriata.ons ~.imi-~ of the transfe~ree en~~.~y sha~I be increased
by such reasonable amount as the said entities shall mu-~ual~y agree
and the appropriations limit of -~he transferor entity sha~~ b~ de-
creased by the same amount, and;
WHEREAS, the ~inance nf~a.cers of fihe County and Town have
ca~.cu~.a~ed the transfer a~ fina~cial .r..esponsibi~,i~y based on "pr~oceeds
of taxes" ~.s d~~ined, txans~erred from the County to the~ Tawn in -~he
amounfi of $1,053,036.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Town of ~'aradise sha1.1.
include in. ~.ts approp~iations ~.imi~ ~o~ fiscal year I980-81 $~.,053,036
~epresen-king a transfer of financ~.al responsibili-ty based on proceeds
of -taxes receaved ~rom the Cou~ty of But~e, and;
