BUTTE COUNTY ORDINANCE N0, $Zg
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS ON
.CERTAIN ROADS WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
(Vehicle Code Section 22358)
The Board o£ Supervisors o£ the County o£ Butte, State of California,
do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of
an engineering and traffic survey, the County highway hereinafter described
comes within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State
of California, in that a maximum speed limit of sixty-five (65) miles per
hour is more than is reasonable and safe on said highways, and determines and
declares a prima facie speed limit on such County highways as follows:
SECTION 2: That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles
per hour is hereby determined, declared and established upon the hereinafter
described County highways, to wit:
On ALL OF OAKLAWN AVENUE
On ALL OF BIDWELL DRIVE
On ALL OF STEWART AVENUE
On CREEK ROAD (sometimes called Bidwell Avenue) from State Highway
32 to the east right-of-way line of Rose Avenue.
SECTION 3: That SPEED LIMIT 25 MILES signs be placed at appropriate
locations on the roads described in Section 2.
SECTION 4~: That a prima facie speed limit of thirty five (35) miles
per hour is hereby determined, declared and established unpon the hereinafter
described County highway, to wit:
On LINCOLN STREET, from the-city 7.imits of the City of Oroville, to
Palermo Road.
On PALERMO ROAD, from Lincoln Street to Monte Vista Avenue.
SECTION 5: That SPEED LIMIT 35 MILES signs be placed at appropriate
locations on the road described in Section 4.
SECTION 6: All ordinances or parts o£ ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealedo .

SECTION 7: The sevexal features, parts, provisions, sections and
terms of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and
the invalidity, if any, of any feature, part, provision, section or term
thereof shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance nor render the same
inoperative or invalid.
SECTION 8: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte
is hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima
facie speed limits established herein, within thirty (30) days of the adoption
hereof.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after its passage
and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage, it shall be
published with the names of the members voting for and against same, once in
a local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Butte, State of California at the regular meeting thereof on the
21st day of ~T7LY ,1964, by the following. vote:
AYES SUPERVISORS ALLDREDGE~ GILES~ PRYDE~ STETNEGGER and CHATRMAN
McKILLOP.

ABSENT: NONE
NOT VOTING: NONE
