No. Z9-78 of ~he County of Butte, adopted May 8, 1979, as a reserve for settlement
of public liability claims and contained funds in the amount of $559,243.14 on Ju7y 7,
1979; and
WWEREAS, an Actuarial Evaluation of Liability, Setf-Insurance Program by
Warren, McVeigh & Griffin, Inc. was comp7eted in October, 1981 and recommended a Net
Reserve at Juiy i, i987 of $2,i78,000; and
WHEREAS, a projection using the same actuarial criteria recommends a
reserve at Ju3y 1, 1982 of $2,969,Q00.
WHEREAS, the Workers' Co~pensation Reserve Fund was established by
Resolution No. 79-149, of t~e County of Butte, adopted ~u1y 24, 1979, for the
purpose of payment of workers' compensation insurance claims and contained funds in
the amount of ~23,636.68 on July 24, 1979; and
WMEREAS, an Actuaria7 Evaluation of Workers' Compensation Self-Insurance
Program by Warren, McVeigh & Griffin, Inc. was comple~ed in July, 1981 and recommended
a funding level at June 30, 1981 of $1,105,417; and
WHEREAS, a projection using the same actuarial criteria recommends a
funding level at Ju7y i, 1982 of $2,009,411; and
WHEREAS, the Unemptoyment Compensation Insurance Claims-Payment Fund was
established by Reso7ution No. ~1-165 of the County of Butte, adopted July 21, 1981,
for the purpose of payment of unemployment comp~nsation insurance claims and contained
funds ~n the amount of $345,595.18 on ~uly 30, 1981; and
~HEREAS, history of 1osses and projected revenues made by staff indicates
a reserve requirement at June 30, 1982 of $56fl,000; and
WHEREAS, the County of Butte now wishes to affirm that monies in all ~hree
of the above-listed funds are reasonably required and may be only used for the
purposes so specified;
NOW, THEREFORE, the County of Butte hereby finds, determines, declares
and resolves as fo7lows:
RESOLUTION AFFIRMING THAT MONIES IN THE SELF-INSURANCE
LIABILITY FUND, THE UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION INSURANCE
CLAIMS-PRYMENT FUND A~D THE WORKERS'CQ~1PENSATION
RESERVE FUND ARE AVAILABLE O~LY FOR DESI~NATED P~RPOSES
AND ARE REASONABLY REQUIRED FOR SUCH PURPOSES
Section 7. pll of the reci~als herein set forth are true and correct,
and the County so finds and determines.
Section 2. The mo~ies in the Self-Insurance Fund, in the amount of
$2,054,722.57, as of May 28, 7982, shall be available only for the purpose of
paying public liability claims against the Cou~ty and are reasonabiy requ~red for
such purpose.
Section 3. The monies in the Workers' Compensation Reserve Fund, in the
amount of $1,606,440.13, as of May 28, 1982, shal7 be avaiiable only for the purpose
of paying workers' compensation claims against the County and are reasonably required
for such purpose.
5ection 4. The monies in the Uneroployment Compensation Insurance Claims-
Payment Fund, in the amount of $420,782.92, as of May 28, 1952, shall be available
only for the purpose of paying un~nploymen~ compensation insurance claims against
the County and are reasonably required for such p~rpose.

day of June , 1982 by the foi7owing vote:
