WFIERFIIS, the City of Chico has entered into a m~ster property
t~ aqreement entitled "Tagreer,ient Between Butte County and Cities Rec~arcling
the Negotiated Exchange of Property Tax Revenues Pelated to Jurisdictional
Change (i_n Accordance with Rev~nue and Ta~cation Code ~99 Addecl by ChaptPr
287_ Statutes ot I979 anc~ Amended by Chapter 1161 of the Statutes of 1979),
( Agreement Am~~decl January 31, 1~ S!? )," as per Revenue and Taxat~_on Caie
rec~ui.rements; and
i~2EAS, the County Counsel has rendered an opinion stating that
the Mastex Property Tax Agreement is not in effect; and
i~-JE[2F~S, the County of Butte does not wish to delay ann~ation
F~r~~.^eedi.ngs rec~u.ested by these property owners.
NOW, ~TF'~ORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County o~ Butte agr~es
to a propesty tax split for the above mentioned annexation districts with
60 percerrt of the property tax revenue, allocable to the City and County,
to be retained by the County, and 40 percent of said property tax revenue
to be paid to the City of Chico. Said 60o/40a split to rema.in in effect
.fnr all pc~~rs following annexa.tion of said pro~rties to the incorporatec~
I.im~.ts of the City o.i: Chico, unless otEienaise agre?c~ to by the City and
Cotu~.ty.
