Civi7 Filinq Fees in M~nicipal and Justice Courts
I~JHEREAS, on November 2, 1982 the Board of Supervisors adapted
ResolutSon 82-171 increasing civil filing ~Pees in P1unicipa3 and ~ustice Courts;
and '
WH'EREAS, it has been found that Resolution 82-171 is ~nvalid since it
referenced inappropriate sections of state law and did not set specific civil
filing fees zn P•lunicipal and Justice Courts; and
t~H'EREAS, the Board of Superv~sars des3res to rescind Resolu~ion 82-171
and, pursuant to Section 68090 of the Gover~ment Code, adopt a new reso1ution to
increase the.'',amounts which ~~unicipal and Justice Courts collect for the filing of
civil actions.
NOId, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1.''' Resolution 82-17I adopted by the ~oard of Supervisors on
November 2, 1982 is hereby rescinded; and
2.'' In accordance with Government Code Section 72055 the Board of
S~pervisors sets a fee of $29 for ~he fi1ing of the first paper in a c9vi1 action
or praceeding in a Municipal or Justice Court; and
3.' In accordance with Government Code 5ection 72056 the Board of
Supervisors se~s a fee of $17 for filing of the first paper in a civil action or
proceeding on behalf of any party ather than a p~aintiff.

Board of Superv~sors by the following vote:
