BUTTE COUNTY ORDINANCE NO,~
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2-87 AND 2-88
OF THE CODE OF BUTTE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte., Mate
of Gal3fornia, do ordain as follows:
to Section 2-87 and Section 288 of the Code of Butte
County, California, are amended to read as follows:
SECTION 2=87
LENGTH OF TII~ TO BE HELD
A11 unclaimed property in the possession of the Sheriff
of the County of Butte shall be by him held for a period of at
least six months, except unclaimed bicycles shall be held for a
period of at least three months.
SECTION 288
SALE AT PUBLIC AUCTION; NOTTCE OF SALE
All unclaimed property in possession of the Sheriff of
the County of Butte, at the expiration of six months or there
after,. and all unclaimed bicycles in possession of the Sheriff
of the County of Butte at the expiration of three months or
thereafter,. may be sold at public auction to the highest bidder
for cash, and notice of the time and place of such sale shall be
given by the Sheriff of the County of Butte at least five days
before the time fixed therefor, by publication once in a news
paper of general circulation published in the County of Butte.
2. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days
after its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15)
days after its passage, it shall be published at least once
with the names of the supervisors voting for or against the
same in a 1oca1 newspaper published in the County of Butte,
State of California,
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the BOARD OF SUPERVISORS of the
County of Butte, 'State of California, on this 1st day of
