l^IIiEREAS, the City of Qiico has entered into a master property
tax agreement entitled "~lgreement I3etween Butte County and Cities
Regarding the Negotiated Exchange of Property "I'ax Revenues Related
ta ,7urisciictional Change (in Accordance with 12evenue and Taxation
Code Section 99 Added by Chapter 282 Statutes of 1979 anc3 Amended
by G}~.apter 1161 0£ the Statutes of 1979), (Agreement Amended January
31, 19~0)," as per Revenue an~ Taxation Code requirements; ai~d
1VHEREAS, the County Counsel has rendered an opininn stating
t~~at the AZastex Propexty T`ax Agreement is not in effect; and
tiVH~REAS, the County of Butte does not wish tn clelay annexa-
tion proceedings requested by these property o4aners.
NOl'J, THEP.CFORE, BIs IT RESOLVED that the County of Butte
agrees tn a property tax split for the above-mentioned annexation
districts witli 60 percent o~ the property tax rev~nue, allocable
to Cl~e City anc~ County, to be retained by the County, and 40
percent o£ said property tax revenue to Ue paid to tlie City of
Cliico. Sa~.d 60o/AOo split to remain in effect for al1 years
follo~ving annexa~ion of said properties to the incorporated limats
of the C~.ty of Cliico, unless otherwise agreed to by tlie City aaid
Couz~ty.
