WHEREAS, Ordinance Na. 1323 of the County of Butte empowers the
Board of Supervisors to proclaim the existence or threatened existence of a
3oca1 emergency when said coun~y is affected or like7y to be affected by a
pubiic calamity; and
WHEREAS, sa~d Board of Supervisors has been requested by the
Civil Disaster Coordinator of said eounty ~o proclaim the existence of a
local emergency therein; and
WHEREAS, said Board of Supervisors does hereby find:
That conditions of extreme peril to the safety qf persons and
property have arisen within sa9d county caused by heavy rains, windstorms,
ftoods and other causes co-rmencjng on ar abou~ 12:00 p.m. on the 2Sth day
of February, 1983; and
That the afaresaid conditions o~ extreme peri] werrant and
necessitate the proclamation ofi the existence of a 1oca1 emergency;
~OW, THER~FORE, TT IS H~REBY PROCLAIMED that a 1oca7 emergency now
exists throughout said county; and
f'T I'S FURTHER PROCLATMED AND ORDERED that during the.exis~ence of
said 7ocaT emergency the powers, functions, and duties of the Civil Disaster
Coqrdinator and the emergency organization of this caunty shal~ be those
prescribed by state ~aw and by ord~nance af this county approved by the Bpard
af Supervisors on January 1, 1973.
IT iS FURTHER PROCLRIMED AND ORDERED that said local emergency shall
be deemed to continue to exist until its termination is proclaimed by the
Board of Supervisors of ~he County of Butte, State of Californ9a.
