Code, the California ~epartment of Housing and Community Develop~ent (hereinafter referred
to as the State) ~s administering the 79$3-84 Gommunity Development Block Grant Program
for the Sta~e of California; and
UlHEREAS, the State has requested proposals for this Community Development
fu~ding be submitted 6y March i4, 1983; and
UIHEREAS, the County of Butte (hereinafter referred to as the County), a local
public agency organized under the slatutes of the State of Californ~a, is e]igible to
apply to the State of California for funding for Community Development activities within
9ts jurisd~ction; and
~HEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors on ~ebruary 15, 1983 established
9ts intent to apply for Community Deveiopment funds to f~nance a neighborhood improvement
program in the neighborhood of Chapmantawn.
NO'~, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLI~ED that the County is hereby authorized to submit
an application to the state of Californ3a requesting $600,000 to finance a program of
public works improvements a~d housing re~abili~ation in the Chapmantoain area of the
unincorpora~ed County; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Superv~sors has reviewed the contents
of the 1983 Commun7ty Development application ta the State of Cali~ornia and approves
of fts contents; and
BE TT FURTHER RESOLVED th~t the Chair of the Board of Supervisors is
authorized to sign this application on behalf o~ the County; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chair of the Board of Supervisars is authorized
to sign the State of Assurances, assuming responsibility for the County's compliance with
applicab7e federal, state, and local laias that apply to the expenditllre of state
Community Develo~ment Funds.
