operators who continually demonstrate their skill and ability in dedicated volunteer
public service in the interest of community, state and national welfare; and
WHEREAS, these operators have given freely, without persona1 gain or
recognStion, many benefits to the c9tizens of the world through the operation of
their stations and the deve7opment of new techniques and equipment; and
WHEREAS, these operators, located throughout the Butte County area, are
prepared to g3ve of their time and resources in a9ding others to comm~nicate with
their families from many inaccessible points throughout the tivorTd and from ships
at sea; and
WHEREAS, these operators are on a continual alert to furnish vita] emergency
commun~cation fac~lities in periods requiring civil defense measures, in time of
natura3 disasters, accidents, need for medical assistance; and `
WHEREAS, these operators conduct effective education and training for
prospective operators and for the general public; and
WHEREAS, the continuing presence of these operators is of great benefit
to the County of Butte in hours of need and a service of humanity.
NOW, TNEREFOR~, BE IT RESOLV~D the Butte County Board of Supervisors does
hereby declare the week of June 19-25, 1983 Amateur Radio Week ~n Butte County,
and cal~s upon ail citizens to pay appropriate tribute to the amateur radio
operators of our county.
PASSED AND ADOPTEll this 21st day of June, 1983 by the folZowing vote:
