HomeMy WebLinkAbout83-131RESOLUTION RELATIVE TO SPECIAL DISTRICT AUGMENTATION FUf~D WHEREAS, the County Auditor-Controller has advised that there is approximately $1,050,000 avaiiable in Special District Augmentation Fund for fiscal year 1983-84; and 41HEREAS, provisions provided for in enabling 7egislation enacted in Assembly Bill AB ~ provided that 5pecial ~istrict Augmentation Funds shall be distributed ~o non-enterprise districts; and WHEREAS, said enab7ing legis~ation des3gnated the County Board of Supervisors to distribute S~ecial District Augmentation Funds; and WNEREAS, Butte County Board of Supervisors, in conjunction with non-enterprise speciai districts within Butte County has heretofore used a formula basis for distribution of said Special L~istrict Augmentation Funds; and YIHEREAS, Butte County Board of Supervisors and non-enterprise special districts have recoanized that Butte County, along with other local pubiic agencies, including non-enterprise special districts are currently facing diff9cult times financially; and [dkEREAS, in recognition of the county's financial situation, the non-enterprise specia1 districts agreed to appropriate 20 percent of their funds to Butte County based on the ~ormula even though said non-enterprise districts were also facing serfous financial constraints, ~fQW, THEREFORE BE IT RESO~VED that Butte County Board of Supervisors agrees to distribute Special District Augmentation ~'unds based on prior year formuTa with the understanding that in addition to the 20 percent contribution, 1 the non-enterprise districts agree that an additional amount wi11 accrue to the County based on the following: INITIAL 1983-84 TOTAL BASIC ALLOCATTON CONTRIBUTION CONTRIBUTION TO BASED ON FORMULA TO CQUNTY TO COUNTY COUNTY $0 - $9,999 20% 0% 20% $10,000-$50,000 20% 5% 25% $50,000-Above 20% 10% 30% 8E IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Board of Supervisors agrees that this additional contribution is for the 1983-84 fiscal year on7y, and further agrees to search for reasonable methods to fund the shortfall in libraries and fire, and that if such funding is found that the augmentatian money will be refunded to the contributing special distracts, according to the 1980 formula.
