ARPROPRIATION OF MATCHING FUNDS AND INTE~TIO~
TO COMPLETE PROJECT IF GRANT FUNDS ARE AWARDED
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors recognizes the
need for Jail construction to provide proper capacity and program capability;
and
WHEREAS, Bu~te County is el~g~ble to submit an application to the
Board of Correct~ons County ~ail Gapita7 ~xpenditure Fund Grant Rrogram; and
WHER~AS, Butfie County is using its full allowable praperty tax ra~e,
has made attempts to attract other funds for this project, has no contfngency
or reserve fund available ~ha~ cou]d reasonably be used to reduce the amount
of funds requested from the State, and has ex~austed all other resources thus
necessitatiing tihis request for S~ate ass9stance.
NOw, TH~R~FOR~, B~ I7 R~SO~VED that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors:
~. Agree to submittal of application for funding to the
Board of Corrections.
2. Agree to a~propriate sufficient funds to meet a twenty-five
percent matching fund requirement on the part of the county if awarded
State funding for the project.
