OF FREDERICK KENNON CARNE
WHEREAS, Fred Carne joined the California Highway Patrol
on July 18, 1955; and
WHEREAS, after having geraduated from the CHP Academy,
Fred Carne was assigned to the Compton area where he served for four
years as a motorcycle officer; and
WHEREAS, Fred Carne was transferred to the Oroville area
on October 7, 1959; and
WHEREAS, Fred Carne has been active in the CARP since 1969,
having served as the Oroville Area Representative from 1968-1977,
served as Director of District I in 1977, wherein he was re-elected
in 1980, and served as chairman of the CAHP Finance Committee from
1980-1983; and
WHEREAS, in 1974 Fred Carne was appointed Special Duty
Officer for the Oroville Area CHP, a position which he held until
his retirement on December 31, 1983.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board, on its
own behalf, and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte,
expresses deep appreciation for the unselfish dedication and devotion
displayed by Fred Carne during the 24 years he has served in the
Oroville area.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors
this 7th day of February, 1984, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Fulton, Wheeler
and Chairman Saraceni
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor Moseley
NOT VOTING: None
