OF LT. DONALD W. PEDERSON
WHEREAS, Lt. Don Pederson of the Butte County Sheriff's
Department has consistently performed outstanding and exemplary
work in his ten years with the Sheriff's Department Search and
Rescue Unit; and
WHEREAS, Lt. Don Pederson has, for the past six years,
served as Coordinator between the Sheriff's Department and the
Search and Rescue Unit; and
WHEREAS, Lt. Don Pederson has directed close to 500 Search
and Rescue operations, many of which have been harrowing experiences
in saving countless lives; and
WHEREAS, Lt. Don Pederson's leadership role has played a
major factor in the many successful missions of the Search and
Rescue Unit; and
WHEREAS, the majority of the rescues operations were
conducted on Lt. Don Pederson's days off and after-duty hours.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. That the Butte County Board of Supervisors commends Lt. Donald
W. Pederson for his outstanding work with the Butte County
Sheriff's Department and for his unselfish devotion to the
citizens of the County of Butte and service to the Search and
Rescue Unit.
2. That this Board, on behalf of itself and on behalf of the
citizens of the County of Butte, congratulates Lt. Donald W.
Pederson for being selected Exchange Club Officer of the Year.

this 14th day of February, 1984, by the following vote:
