STATE OF C.AL1J=OI~NJA '+ ~'~~~""'°~*} + Resolufion No. 84-42 RESOLUTION DECLARING SPECIAL OLYMPICS WEEK AND OYSTER OLYMPICS DAY bJHEREAS, the Special Olympics is an important part of the on-going programs to benefit retarded citizens of this county; and WHEREAS, the prosperity and well being of this county's less fortunate citizens are dependent upon cooperation among busi-Hess and the corronunity at large; and ~rJHEREAS, the Special Olympics efforts are now in progress and will occur during the next months; and WHEREAS, the second annual "Oyster Olympics" for Special Olympic seeks to directly involve the county in supporting a worthy cause; and WHEREAS, the success of this worthy program is entirely dependent upon the cooperation of all areas of ou1^'county; and WHEREAS, the second annual "Oyster Olympic Day" sponsored by the Sandpiper Restaurant will be held on Saturday, Parch 24, 1984 from Noon Until 4:00 p.m. at California Park Pavil7ion; and WHEREAS, such a program provides an excellent opportunity for the county to work together in support of their less fortunate citizens; and WHEREAS, such support and cooperation presents a most favorable image throughout the state of the county's awareness of Butte County and its residents. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board .of Supervisors declares the week of March 19, 1984 as Special Olympics Meek. BE IT FURTFIER RESOLVED, that the Butte Couhty Board of Supervisors declares March 24, 1984 as Oyster Olympics Day in Chico.
