RESOLUTION HONORING PARADISE
SUPERSOX AA TEAM
WHEREAS, Bobbysox was established in 1963 for the purpose of
promoting friendship, leadership, sportsmanship, and citizenship
among young girls competing in softball, and the Paradise League was
organized in 1980; and
WHEREAS, the Supersox League is the fall season of Bobbysox
and the Paradise AA Team played in the Northern California Division
against teams representing Sacramento, Roseville, and Rio Linda;
and
WHEREAS, Paradise Supersox AA Team went undefeated during
the season with ten wins and no losses, thereby becoming the first
Supersox Team to compile such a record; and
WHEREAS, as a result of their outstanding accomplishment the
San Francisco Giants are honoring the Paradise Supersox AA Team on
April 17, 1984 as the Giants' Guests of Honor in San Francisco;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
of Butte County, that said Board takes great pleasure in honoring
and commending the following team members for their outstanding
athletic ability:

LOVE DOYLE
SHEA FRY
CHERYL GOLLING
SANDI JONES
SHERRI LOCKREM
TAMI MALLAN
MARX MILLER
RENE NOBLE
KATHLEEN SPRAGUE
CHRISTY WALLACE
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors expresses
the congratulations of all Butte County residents for the exceptional
achievement of Paradise Supersox AA Team.
