RESOLUTIO~E PROCLAIPIING APRIL FAIR HOUSING N10NTH
4dHEREAS, housing is a basic human need and a fundamental human right; and
61HERERS, April 1984 has been designated Fair Housing Alonth in the nation
and the State of California: and
4~IHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of California and the Congress of
the United States have enacted laws which guarantee the rights of equal housing
opportunity; and
WHEREAS, Fair Housing Nlonth is designed to inform all residents of the
State of California as to their rights and obligations under fair housing laws as
well as inform residents of the negative effect of housing discrimination in their
community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors
hereby proclaims the month of April 1984 as "Fair Housing Month" in the County of
Butte.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board encourages county residents to
educate themselves about fair housing laws and to work for fair housing activities
in the County of Butte.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 17th
day of April, 1984 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Fulton, Moseley, 1~!heeler and Chairman Saraceni
