RESOLUTION PROCLAIh9IN6 ENDANGERED SPECIES DAY
WHEREAS, part of our priceless heritage as citizens of America,
California and Butte County has been the rich diversity of wildlife whose home
was this continent long before we arrived; and
~dHEREAS, it is the responsibility of the citizens of this country
and Butte County to pass on to future generations a world with as many of its
rare sifts intact as possible; and
WHEREAS, the wants and needs of people need not be mutually exclusive
from those of the wild flora and fauna; and
WHEREAS, there is a need for communication and education in order to
maintain a balance in nature; and
WHEREAS, the fifth annual Endangered Species Faire will be held on
Saturday, April 28, 1984 at Chico Creek Nature Center in Bidwell Park;:-and
WHEREP.S, such a program provides-the citizens of Butte County with
an excellent opportunity to work fora balance in nature.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors de c1ares April 28, 1984 as ENDANGERED SPECIES DAY.
PASSED AWD ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this
24th day of April, 1984 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Fulton, Moseley, ldheeler and Chairman Saraceni
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
