RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE JUDICIAL COUNCIL TO RECOIVIMEND CONSOLIDATION,
ENLARGEMENT, OR ALTERATION OF COURT DISTRICTS IN BUTTE COUNTY
WHEREAS, the continued growth in population in Butte County will inevitably
cause part or all of the Judicial Court Districts to seek conversion to Municipal Court
Districts; and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors desires to plan for this
inevitability; and
WHEREAS, the Government Code provides that the Judicial Council will study
the conditions of business in the courts at no cost to the county.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Soard of
Supervisors requests:
1. That, in accordance with Government Code §71042, the Judicial Council
perform the study and review of the Butte County Court System in
accordance with Judicial Council schedule of study.
2. That the results of the study and recommendations be presented to the
Board of Supervisors for their further consideration.
