RESOLUTION OI?POSING THE NEW FORMULA FOR AIST~2ZBUTION OF
I'EDERAL FOREST HIGHWA'Y' FUNllS
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors has reviewed
23 CFR 660 which has been proposed to change the method of aliacating
Federal Forest Highway Funds; and
WHEREAS, said proposed rules would require the Secretary of
Transportation to allocate Forest Highway Funds according to the relative
needs of the various elements of the national forest system by taking
into consideration the need for access as identified through renewable
resource and land use planning and the impact of such planning on existing
transportation facilities; and
WHEREAS, the proposed formula:: compares the number of
recreational vehicle: days and the real timber harvest with the national
total; and
WHEREAS, such shift will have an adverse effect on the states
of Californa, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
NOW, TFIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board of Supervisors,
County of Butte authorizes its representative to present its position to
the upcoming meeting of the National Association of Counties.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this
25th day of 3une, 1984, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Moseley, Wheeler and Chairman Saraceni
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor Fulton
