Arizona State University; and
WHEREAS, it takes a great deal of dedication and tremendous personal
sacrifice to be able to qualify as a participant; in the Olympic Games; and
tiJHEREAS, Leslie Deniz represented the United States in the 1984 Olympic
Games at Las Angeles in the track and field events; and
WHEREAS, Leslie Deniz. won the silver medal for the United States in
the women's discus with a throw of 212--9.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors,
on behalf of the entire county, respectfully recognize the great field talent and
ability displayed by Leslie Deniz during the 1984 Olympic Games which culminated
in the award of-the silver medal in the women's. discus and wish her well in her
future endeavors.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 14th
day of August, 1984, by the following vote:
