RESOLUTION CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE
', OF AN ELECTTON TO AUTHORIZE FORMATTON
OF THE PROPOSED WESTERN CANAL WATER DISTRICT
AND ELECTING PERSONS TO FILL THE OFFICES OF THE
', PROPOSED DISTRICT IF IT IS FORMED
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte has approved
the boundaries of the proposed Western Canal Water District; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 34400 of the Water Code
of the State of California, theBoard is thereafter authorized to give notice of
an election and call said election for purposes of authorizing the formation of
said District, and electing officers thereto.
NdW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Board does hereby give notice as
follows:
1, On December 18, 19£i4, an election shall be held for purposes of
determining whether or not the Western Canal Water District should be formed, and
for electing persons to fill the offices of the proposed District if it is formed.
2: Said election shall 6e conducted between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and
5:00 p.m. on December 18, 1984.
3, The polling place for conduct of said election shall be Western
Canal Headquarters, 2003 Nelson Road, Nelson, California.
4. The boundaries of the proposed District considered in the election
are set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and by this reference incorporated.
5 The name of the proposed District shall be the Western Canal Water
District.
6. The issues to 6e presented to the voters of said election shall be
as follows:.
Proposition No. 1:
Shall a California Water District, to be known as
Western Canal lJater District, 6e formed?
Proposition No: 2;
Shall the proposed Western Canal Water District be
authorized to issue registered warrants in an amount of $2,750,000,
for a term not to exceed seven years, to finance purchase of canal
facilities, said warrants to 6e secured 6y a standby water charge
to be levied against all irrigable acres within said District?

Proposition No. 3:
Vote for any five of the following named parties for
the office of Director of Western Canal Water District.
BE TT FURTHER RESOLVED that nomination of persons for the position of
Director of'the Western Canal Water District shall be by petition. Said petition
shall be received from the Butte County Clerk and returned no later than October 5,
1984.
BE IT FURTNER•RESOLVED that Notice of the election shall be published
once a week for at least three weeks previous to the election in a newspaper of
general circulation published within the counties of Butte and Glenn.
B~ IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution shall be
delivered to Executive Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission of the
Cvunty of Butte.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that written arguments for and against the
formation of said District, in comp1aince with the provisions of 34402.2 of the
Water Code of the State of California, shall 6e filed with the Elections Clerk
of the County of Butte no later than October 5, 1984.
