RESOLUTION HONORING JEFF STOVER
WHEREAS, Jeff Stover graduated from Corning High School and
went on to attend Oregon University, where he excelled in athletics,
mare specifically track and field; and
WHEREAS, Jeff Stover and his family then made their home in
the Chico area; and
WHEREAS, Jeff Stover was a free agent walk on with the San
Francisco 49ers professional football team; and
WHEREAS, while playing football last season in the position
of defensive tackle, Jeff Stover injured his knee and had to have
athroscopic surgery; and
WHEREAS, Jeff Stover successfully recovered from his surgery
to come back and participate in all of the play off games and Super
Bowl XIX; and
WHEREAS, Jeff Stover and the San Francisco 49ers, through
demonstration of an outstanding field defensive line were successful
in defeating the Miami Dolphins, thus enabling the San Francisco
49ers to be the winners of Super Bawl XIX.
N[~W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
of Butte County, that said Board takes great pleasure in honoring
and commending Jeff Stover for his outstanding accomplishments,-not
only in playing for the San Francisco 49ers professional football
team, which won Super Bowl XIX, but also for his devotion to his
family and community;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors expresses
the congratulations of all Butte County residents for the exceptional
achievements of Jeff Stover.
PASSED AND ADDPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors
this 29th day of January, 1985, by the following vote:
AYES; Supervisors Dolan, Mclnturf, McLaughlin, Wheeler
and Chairman Fulton
