HomeMy WebLinkAbout85-055WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte heretofore on May 20, 1980 adopted Resolution No. 80-109; and WHEREAS, this Board has reconfirmed the need for an advisory body that will advise the Board on all maters which will have an impact upon agriculture. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors, County of Butte, hereby reconfirms its intent to have an Agricultural Advisory Commission, as follows: 1. Said Commission shall consist of five members. Each Board member shall nominate one member to the Commission; however, all members shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors. Additionally, an alternate member may be appointed at-large. The alternate member may participate in the proceedings of the Commission; however, will have only voting rights in the absence of one of the other regular members.. 2. The County Agricultural Commissioner, or his authorized deputy, and the Farm Advisor of Butte County, or his authorized deputy, shall also serve on the committee as non-voting ex-officio members of the Commission and as support staff. 3. Said Agricultural Advisory Commission is empowered to develop: operating bylaws to be acted upon and approved by the Board of Supervisors. Said bylaws shall provide for and include the scheduling of meetings, development of agendas, and the submission of recommendations to the Board of Supervisors. 4. Said Agricultural Advisory Commission should involve itself in studying issues in depth, hold public hearings as necessary, perfiorm research .data collecting necessary and helpful to the Board, and to provide the Board with reasons to support their decisions or recommendations. - 2- 5. Members of the Agricultural Advisory Commission shall 6e entitled to mileage and other necessary expenses incurred pursuant to the undertaking of their responsibilities set forth in this resolution, Said expenses shall be submitted to tYie Chief Administrative Officer of the County for approval. 6. This resolution shall replace Resolution 80-109 heretofore adopted by the Board of Supervisors on May 20, 1980.
