RESOLUTION ORDERING COUNTY AUDITOR TO REJECT
ANY CENT NOT EVENLY DIVISIBLE BY T4J0 IN THE
COMPUTATION OF TAXES ON THE COUNTY SECUREp ASSESS-
~~1ENT ROLL (GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 2152.5)
WHEREAS, California Government Code Section 2152.5 provides that the
Board of Supervisors may order the County Auditor to reject any cent not evenly
divisible by two in the computation of taxes, special assessments or charges
on the County Secured Assessment Ro11, and;
WHEREAS, both County Auditor and Treasurer-Tax Collector agree that
rejection of the "odd" cent on secured property tax bills will reduce taxpayer
confusion, and time consuming, costly special handling of resulting erroneous
payments, and;
WHEREAS, both County Auditor and Treasurer-Tax Collector strongly
recommend rejection of the "odd" cent in the computation of said taxes;
P10W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that for the 1985-86 Secured Assess-
ment Roll and each Secured Assessment Roll thereafter until this order is
rescinded by the Board of Supervisors, the County Auditor is hereby ordered
to reject any cent not evenly divisible by two in the computation of taxes,
special assessments or charges thereon.
