RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING THE DAY OF
JUNE 15, 1985 AS THOMAS E. DOYLE DAY
WHEREAS, Thomas E. Doyle, son of Ed and Jean Doyle of
Oroville, rose through the ranks of the Civil Air Patrol from 1976
through 1980 and was selected California Cadet of the Year in 1980;
and
WHEREAS, in 1981 Thomas E. Doyle received an appointment
to the United States Air Force Academy; and
WHEREAS, during his schooling and training at the Air Force
Academy, Thomas E. Doyle was consistently named to the Deans List
for scholastic achievement; became certified as a flight instructor
for glider aircraft; and was accepted into the Euro-Nato Jet Fighter
Pilot Training Program; and
WHEREAS, on May 29, 1985 Thomas E. Doyle graduated from
the United States Air Force Academy and received his commission as
a Second Lieutenant; and
WHEREAS, Thomas E. Doyle is the first Oroville resident
to graduate from the United States Air Force Academy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board of Supervisors
hereby proclaims June 15, 1985 as Thomas E. Doyle Day in the community
of Oroville.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors, County of
Butte, this 4th day of June, 1985, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, McInturf, McLaughlin, Wheeler
and Chairman Fulton
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
