RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF
BUTTE COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT/CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FORESTRY
1984 FIRE FIGHTER OF THE YEAR - LEE SHERMAN
WHEREAS, Division Chief Lee Sherman has been a member of the
California Department of Forestry management team in the Butte Ranger
Unit since 1974; and
WHEREAS, Lee Sherman has been instrumental in the improvement
of the readiness of the department's automotive fleet and the securing
of hundreds of thousands of dollars of federal excess property for all
of the volunteer fire companies in Butte County; and
WHEREAS, Lee Sherman's dedication to duty and willingness to
serve his organization and community is reflective of the honor of
California Department of Forestry/Butte County Fire Department 1984 Fire
Fighter of the Year being bestowed upon him.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors,
County of Butte, State of California, t-hat recognition of appreciation
be given to Division Chief Lee Sherman for his selection as 1984 California
Department of Forestry Fire Fighter of the Year.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board .of Supervisors, County of Butte,
State of California, this 4th day of June, 1985, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, McInturf, McLaughlin, Wheeler and
Chairman Fulton
