RESOLUTION IN HONOR OF THE 65TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE
FOUNDING OF THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS
WHEREAS, the League of Women Voters promotes political
responsibility through informed and active participation of citizens in
government; and
WHEREAS, the League of Women Voters is an organization operating
almost exclusively in the public interest; and
WHEREAS, the League of Women Voters fasters education in
citizenship and supports needed legislation; and
WHEREAS, the League of Women Voters stimulates activity in public
affairs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Butte County Board
of Supervisors do announce and proclaim to all citizens, that
December 11, 1985 is League of Women Voters day in Butte County. All
citizens are encouraged to recognize the accomplishments of the last 65
years and continuing value of the League of Women Voters of Butte County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors, County of Butte,
State of California, this 3rd day of December 1985, by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Mclnturf, Wheeler and Chairman Fulton
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor A9cLaughlin
NOT VOTING: None
